Niall Horan - On The Loose (Acoustic)
How Many bars does the verse last compared to the chorus?
Verse 1 - 8 Bars
Chorus 1 - 16 Bars
Verse 2 - 8 Bars
Chorus 2 - 16 Bars
After Calculating the Length of the bars in the Verse's and the choruses, I have found out that there is 8 bas different between them.
Compare the instrumentation between the sections.
Verse 1 - An electric guitar is being played along with an electric bass guitar.
The electric guitar has been played with a finger picking idiomatic technique with bass guitar also being played with a finger picking technique.
The notes on these guitars are also being played as legato, meaning that the notes flow into each other and are fairly long.
As for the percussion, there is a Kick drum playing just behind both guitars, backing them as they play.
Chorus 1 - The 1st chorus include the same elements as the first verse, but there is a slight difference as backing vocals enter within the first minute of the song.
Verse 2 - Verse 2 has a new instrument coming in over the top of the others for a second of the song. In 1 minute and 11 seconds and 1 minute 19 seconds, a shaker comes in for a slight second to change the feeling and build it up to the second chorus.
Chorus 2 - In chorus 2 at 1 minute 29 seconds, a shaker comes in and plays on every half beat. A tambourine comes in also and plays on every down beat to accompany the shaker, guitars and drums.
Balance and Pan
The electric guitar is at the very front of the track. The bass guitar sits just behind the electric guitar playing the same notes as the electric guitar.
The tambourine then sits behind the last two instruments, playing every down note,
The kick drum then comes in fourth with it playing on every down beat.
The shaker comes in second to last, playing on every half beat.
Lastly, the backing vocals which you can hear, are the quietest of the track.
As for the panning, everything is being played in the centre of the track.
